Palm announced the new Palm m125 Grad Pack. This limited-edition handheld bundle from Palm, Inc. includes a Palm m125 handheld, a USB HotSync cable, and an expansion card titled “Shortcuts to Success” that features productivity tools, games, and Charles Webb’s novel “The Graduate” in ebook format. The Palm m125 Grad Pack retails for $199 (estimated U.S. street price) and is available in the United States at Best Buy stores across the country, Follet college campus bookstores, and Staples stores in the northeast. In addition, customers who purchase a Palm m125 or m130 handheld from any retail store or from The Palm Store by June 30, 2002, can mail in a coupon to receive the Shortcuts to Success expansion card free.

Wireless access for MedStrong

Palm Boulevard reports MedStrong International has developed the software interface necessary to allow for wireless access to its online medical records system. According to the article, MedStrong said its product, Patient Data Quickly (PDQ), is a password protected, secure database that allows for online access to an individual’s medical records.

Bradley named president

Palm, Inc. announced that its board of directors has named Todd Bradley as president, Palm Solutions Group. He retains his role as the group’s chief operating officer. As head of the Solutions Group, Bradley is in charge of the company’s handheld computer hardware; software, such as enterprise email software; and add-ons, such as keyboards and SD Card and MultiMediaCard expansion cards. The group targets consumers, mobile professionals, and enterprises.

Sony PEG-NR70V first look

Palm Infocenter has a first look review of the Sony PEG-NR70V. The NR70V is a clamshell model that has a 320 by 480 screen with a virtual Graffiti area. It has a built-in keyboard, digital camera, and MP3 player. It has 16 MB of RAM and is the first Palm OS device to use a 66 MHz processor. It’s priced at $600.
