Action Names Datebook contact-management and scheduling software now supports the high-resolution-plus series of Palm OS devices, including the newly released Sony CLIE PEG-NR70 and NR70V series. Bump Attack Pinball now supports the high-resolution series of Palm OS devices with 320-by-320 pixel display and offers a sampled music background for Sony CLI=C9 T615C users.=20

Air2Web announced its latest customer deal–with the National Football League. Through Air2Web’s Mobile Internet Platform, football fans will be able to receive up-to-the-minute updates of this year’s draft picks using any Web-enabled phone, Short Message Service phone, or Personal Digital Assistant.

Handspring, Inc. launched the company’s new integrated wireless products, the Treo 180 and 180g, in Australia. Treo 180 and 180g communicators have been certified for use on the Vodafone and Optus networks in Australia. The communicators retail for AUD$1399 including GST and are available as low as AUD$229 with a service plan. Retailers will include Strathfield, Harvey Norman, Downtown Duty Free, Optus, Vodafone outlets, and other select dealers. Handspring will continue to work with Brightpoint Australia to provide marketing support, technical service, and local representation in the market.

Parascript Pen&Internet have announced that Web sites can now instantly enable the creation and sending of handwritten/handdrawn emails from anywhere on their site, using Parascript’s riteMail Java technology. The vector-based files created by riteMail are automatically viewable in any HTML mail client, or can be seen via a Web browser. riteMail also works with Palm handhelds.

Palm, Inc. announced that its Mobile Mentor Software: Student Edition has earned a five-star rating and a PC Magazine Editors’ Choice award in the Palm OS category. In an April 9 article titled “Kid Stuff on Your PDA,” the magazine said the software “strikes the right balance between work and play, and is an ideal suite for any student from junior high through college.”

Purple Data Cables is now in production with a new line of cables for Visor. These cables directly connect your Visor with a Garmin GPS (Global Positioning System). There are two new model numbers: PLPH-GA (compatible with the following Garmin GPS units – GPS 12, GPS 12CX, GPS12XL, GPS12 MAP, GPS 48, GPS II Plus, GPS III, GPS III Plus, Street Pilot, and Street Pilot ColorMap). The other new model number is PLPH-GE (compatible with the Garmin eTrex and eMap.) These cables are compatible with all of the 8-pin Visors (Solo, Deluxe, Platinum, Prism, Neo, and Pro). This new line of cables utilizes the new Purple Data Cables Low Power Technology. The significance of this new Low Power technology lies in the much lower power consumption as compared to standard RS232 interface cables. They draw less than a tenth of the power.

Zuraimie Ismail, a Palm OS developer in Singapore, just released the latest version of the ASL Vocabulary 2.0. ASL Vocabulary 2.0 is designed to allow you to review the vocabulary of the American Sign Language. It has 552 vocabulary and has a review and quiz mode. Both software supports color and non-color Palm handhelds.
