The recipient of the bronze Clio award acknowledged that he has been using iambic’s Action Names Datebook for years to schedule and coordinate filming and production, manage his demanding appointment schedule, and handle the multiple tasks that can plague a filmmaker so high in demand. TT Tech Limited announced the release of the T121 SnapNType thumb-board, the latest addition to their SnapNType thumb-board series. T121 is designed for the Samsung SPH-I300 Palm OS phone. The T121 mini-keyboard snaps on to the bottom of SPH-I300 replacing the Graffiti input with a standard QWERTY keyboard.

HandStory announced the immediate availability of HandStory Suite 2.1, the first version of the productivity tool to include user-accessible scripting features for customized retrieval of standard Web content. The new HandStory Clip Editor, included in HandStory Suite 2.1, offers Web site operators and end users the ability to create custom clipping scripts to extract content from any Web site for viewing on Palm OS devices.

Datastick Systems, Inc. has entered into a software licensing and development agreement with Oceana Sensor Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of OEM vibration sensors and smart, wireless sensing systems for machine health monitoring, to develop a software interface exclusively for Oceana. As a result, Oceana’s ICHM 20/20 (Intelligent Component Health Monitoring) System will communicate with the Datastick Connection software suite via Bluetooth wireless technology.

Palm Infocenter reports PalmSource is close to finishing Palm OS 5, which supports larger screens but doesn’t use the same API that Sony has been using for its larger screens. According to the post, a Sony spokesperson told Cnet that its OS 5 devices won’t use its proprietary API; instead they will use the OS 5 one.

CNET News.com reports PalmSource will be taking a very gradual approach to the fundamental Palm OS platform changes coming this year and will be relying on current software and developer tools for some time yet. According to the article, Palm’s upcoming change to OS 5 and to more powerful ARM-based processors will hardly be noticeable at first.

Rococo Software announced the release of Impronto Simulator 1.1, a Bluetooth application development tool that runs Java applications in a simulated Bluetooth environment. Impronto Simulator 1.1 supports J2ME and J2SE, allowing more developers to test and configure applications without investing in hardware before deploying applications on Bluetooth devices.
