Quicksheet Commercial Solutions Pack

Cutting Edge Software announced the release of the Quicksheet Commercial Solutions Pack. Quicksheet Commercial Solutions Pack lets you develop custom solutions that require a spreadsheet for data display, acquisition and analysis (including charting) on the handheld device. The software comes with an ActiveX/COM application program interface (API) that enables users to develop custom solutions built on Aether Systems’ ScoutServer technology. The API also enables users to integrate with ODBC databases, flat data files or spreadsheets.

Palm stock distribution

3Com announced the distribution plan for its Palm shares. News.com reports that 3Com shareholders will receive approximately 1.5 shares of Palm for each share of 3Com held. Shareholders of record July 11 will receive their Palm distribution July 27.

News.com says that executives from Palm, HP, RIM and IBM have been in New York over the past week to convince investors that the future is wireless. The report says that even Gateway will get into the PDA and phone markets.

Outlook, Palm synchronization

UpShot.com announced it will offer synchronization for users of handheld Palm devices and Microsoft Outlook. UpShot.com partnered with PUMA Technology to implement the technology. Users of Palm devices and Outlook can transfer their appointments, to-do’s, and contact data from the UpShot.com online service so that the information is accessible from handheld devices and laptops.

Palm devices will go wireless

Palm CEO Carl Yankowski said that Palm would offer a wireless clip-on attachment for any Palm devices that are not currently online, according to ABCNEWS.com.
