
Intermedia Group, the International Service Management Forum,and META Group have announced the end-user sessions to be delivered at the first annual International IT Service Management Summit, to be held October 4 and 5 at the Disney Contemporary Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The event will cover how standardized processes and best practices can be used to improve the quality of services provided by IT organizations.

SpringWallet says that, by slipping a Springboard module into their Visor, users of Handspring’s Palm OS-based handhelds can quickly and easily add memory, software, or even hardware such as modems or network cards. Until now there was no convenient way to organize, store, and protect these modules. JAMDAT Mobile, has announced the addition of two senior executives to its team. Thomas Ellsworth, formerly with Sprint PCS, has joined the company as executive vice president of marketing and corporate development. Minard Hamilton, formerly with ESPN Internet Group, will serve as JAMDAT Mobile’s senior vice president of corporate sales.

E Ink Corporation, has announced the opening of a flexible microelectronics facility in Woburn, Mass. The 9,500 square foot building will house E Ink’s Microelectronics Technology Group. The new semiconductor facility is the first in the world devoted exclusively to developing flexible transistors for use in electronic displays.

CNET news.com reports that the new Sony Clie PEG N760C comes with a built-in digital audio player, version 4.1 of the Palm OS, and a display that supports up to 65,536 colors. It will be available in October for $500. Sony also announced a digital audio player module. The $130 player, which connects to the serial port of any Clie device, will also be available in October.
