
STNE Corporation announced a 16MB memory upgrade for the Palm i705. Now you can have 16MB of internal memory in the Palm i705 saving the SD card slot for other expansion products. This 16MB of memory is accessed just like your original 8MB.

NS BASIC Corporation announced that NS Basic for Palm OS is compatible with the beta version of Palm OS 5. Developers using NS Basic for Palm OS will be able to write programs that will run on the new operating system right away. Backwards compatibility has been preserved. Programs that run on Palm OS 5 based devices will also run on Palm OS 3 and 4 based devices without change, so long as they do not use features unique to Palm OS 5.

At CeBIT, Electric Pocket announced the release of Mailer, a POP3 email application for Palm OS handhelds. Mailer offers a multi-account email engine to enable users to have greater control over which email messages are received. It also provides an option to reply to an email with a phone call rather than another email.

Extended Systems launched its XTNDConnect Server Professional Edition, providing corporate IT managers with a platform-independent synchronization and management solution for the enterprise and enabling the integration of a wide variety of mobile devices that synchronize with groupware and database servers.

Users can do this whether they are connected to the Internet wirelessly or via a modem. The Palm Web Browser is scheduled to be available in the United States on April 8, in Europe at the end of April, and in other regions at a later date, for an estimated U.S. street price of $19.95 (or local equivalent). It will be available for purchase and download online in the United States at The Palm Store, in Europe at PalmDirect.com, and in other regions through various third-party online vendors.

Motorola, Inc. announced that it has enhanced its third-party developer program to help software developers around the world accelerate the creation of new applications for the wireless industry. The program, Motorola Applications Global Network, is designed to assist software developers in the introduction of their applications in a global market while providing them with access to a full range of services designed to simplify wireless applications creation.

iambic, Inc. announced it is expanding its Action Names contact-management and scheduling software for handheld devices to include Action Names School. Action Names School is geared toward on-the-go students working in a Palm OS computing environment and will be showcased at CeBIT 2002, held March 13-20 at the Hanover Exhibition Center in Hanover, Germany.
