Miscreants have again adapted the Warezov Trojan horse to target Skype users, Websense Security Labs warned.

The attack is similar to threats that target instant-messaging applications. A targeted Skype user will receive a chat message with the text “Check up this” and a link to a malicious executable called “file_01.exe” on a Web site, Websense said in an alert. If the user runs the file, several other files are downloaded and run, it said.

Back in January, Palm introduced a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync update for the Palm OS-run Treo 680 and Treo 700p smartphones. This update is now available for the company’s only remaining Palm platform handset, the Treo 650.

Apple made its biggest move yet into the living room by starting shipments of the Apple TV box, a gizmo that lets people take music, photos and video stored on a computer and play them on a television screen.

Palm announced that Judge James R. Spencer of the United States District Court for the Eastern Division of Virginia, Richmond Division, granted a stay of proceedings in the patent infringement litigation brought against the company by NTP.
