
Puma Technology previewed Vulcan, a server-based device connectivity platform. Vulcan is a single vendor solution that works with Intellisync Anywhere and Satellite Forms and leverages all of the advanced features of the Intellisync Synchronization solution such as query/response, conflict resolution and filtering. The Vulcan platform, an extension to Puma’s Intellisync Anywhere software, can be deployed across multiple applications and devices, supporting standard back-end interfaces such as ODBC, HTML, and Lotus Notes. Proxim, Inc. announced the availability of the RangeLAN2 CE PC Card for Windows CE-based handheld PCs and devices for $295.

Hewlett- Packard announced an upgrade for its HP 620LX and 660LX color palmtop PCs. The upgrade includes productivity applications from HP and an upgrade from Windows=AE CE 2.0 to Windows CE Handheld Professional Edition software. The HP productivity applications provide 64K color and MP3 player support, full backup capabilities, an HP viewer for enhanced viewing of PIM information, and HP quick pad.

GeeThree.com announced the Stealth Serial Port for the Power Macintosh G3. It is compatible with Palm handhelds, printers, MIDI devices, LocalTalk devices, modems and digital cameras. The Stealth Serial Port will be available next week.
