Imagiworks, LLC announced it is the winner of one of the best of show awards given out by the NE Macintosh & Internet User Group for innovative products at Macworld Expo. Imagiworks won the award for imagiLab, the Palm computer-based science laboratories. imagiLabs are mobile computer-based science labs that let students collect and visually analyze a variety of real-world data at home, school, or wherever scientific inquiry takes them.

The new version has been rewritten from the ground up, and includes new features, such as transparent support for complete backups to more than one desktop computer, and optional archiving of files deleted from the organizer so that files can be easily located and reinstalled if needed.

Thanks to reader Jeff Arnold for sending in the following news from Aportis. According to Aportis’ Web site, BrainForest Professional for Macintosh and PalmOS will be released within the next two weeks. The Windows version will be available as a public beta version at about the same time. The release date for the Windows version has not been determined. Because of the delays in BrainForest Professional, AportisDoc Professional is behind schedule and is expected to be available in the Spring.
