Sega of America announced an agreement between Sega Enterprises and AT&T to provide Internet service for Sega Dreamcast. Under the agreement, AT&T WorldNet Service will become the preferred U.S. Internet service provider (ISP) for Sega Dreamcast and the Sega Dreamcast Network when the system launches on September 9, 1999 in North America.

TimeDance announced a licensing agreement with Puma Technology, makers of Intellisync. Through the Intellisync Software Development Kit (SDK), TimeDance will incorporate the Intellisync engine from Puma Technology into its web-based group scheduling service, allowing users to synchronize calendar and contact information between TimeDance and their desktop and handheld Personal Information Management systems (PIMs).

Applied Microsystems Corporation announced CodeTEST HW-In-Circuit test and analysis tools for the Windows CE operating system. Using CodeTEST, embedded developers can verify application software functionality and measure real-time performance.

Foliage Software Systems’ iBrowser software was distributed to the Microsoft sales force as the web browser of choice for palm-sized Windows CE devices. Microsoft will make 10,000 CD’s available with iBrowser as the web browser solution. iBrowser is a full-featured World Wide Web browser developed for use on Windows CE systems.

Eclipse International announced their participation in the development of the new Compaq Aero 8000 Handheld PC Professional which also used Eclipse’s AdvanCE Solutions Platform and the CorePak system software and semiconductor product.

News.com reports that prices are dropping for Windows CE devices. According to the report, it’s either because the devices aren’t selling or because a new version is in the works.
