
VTech Information, LLC. will soon introduce its Helio PDA to the national retail buying public via new associations with Metrocall and Target Stores. Within the next three to six months, the Helio will be widely available at a number of high-visibility national electronics stores and office supply chains.

EdgeMatrix launched WAPman Color, the first color WAP microbrowser for the Palm OS. According to Dinesh Bhatia, CEO of EdgeMatrix, “As PDAs have evolved to feature color, we felt that it was important to invent a color version of our WAP microbrowser to support the Palm OS platform, which is the dominant OS for the PDA market.”

Ectaco, Inc., a handheld electronic dictionaries manufacturer and software developer, announced all Language Teacher Palm OS software has been upgraded so that several programs for different languages may be installed and used on any Palm device.

Game-Interviews.com has an interview with Michael Ethetton, a programmer at Gambit Studios, about Liberty, the only GameBoy emulator running on the Palm OS.

HardCover Software has released Cyber Man CE 2.0 for Windows CE. The arcade style multi-level maze game does little to conceal its Pac-Man roots as the user helps Cyber Man retrieve chips that have been scattered throughout ten different laboratories while avoiding four security robots.

Resco has also released Digital Photo Album for Pocket PC. It can display images in jpg, jpeg, gif, bmp, or 2bp file formats. Its features include full screen preview, zoom, slide show mode, and image properties.

Resco has released the Resco Keyboard for Pocket PC with a new input method designed to increase typing speed. Both a system and numeric keyboard are included.

Applian Technologies announced the release of Dial-a-matic for the Pocket PC. According to the press release, it’s the first phone-dialing software to use either a speaker or modem interface to make calls, and it’s the only PDA dialing software capable of supporting upcoming Bluetooth enabled devices, as well as cell phones and landline phones.
