Palm’s 100,000th developer

Palm, Inc. announced Jonathan Leonhard of Arachnid Web Design as its 100,000th registered developer. According to the press release, Leonhard is integrating Palm handheld computers into a corporate, fleet application.

BrightHand reviews CLIE

BrightHand has a review of Sony’s new handheld device, calling it “nothing more than a typical Palm clone with a Memory Stick slot that currently exhibits less functionality than your standard floppy disk drive.” However, the review does speak highly of its small size.

eWEEK reports IBM, Lotus, and Handspring displayed wireless prototypes at DemoMobile. According to the article, Lotus demonstrated a prototype of Notes designed to fit on a Palm device.

CNET News.com reports a start-up called Ecrio demonstrated instant messaging software that uses handwriting recognition and will work on handheld computers from Palm, Handspring, and Microsoft, as well as WAP-enabled cell phones.

Schiffer a good move

Palm Boulevard has an article in support of the Claudia Schiffer Edition Palm V, calling it a brilliant move. The article makes the case that further partnerships between Palm and celebrities could take Palm devices “from geek playthings to ubiquitous consumer devices.”
