Oracle gets Intellisync

Pumatech today announced a licensing deal with Oracle. According to Pumatech, Oracle will be incorporating Pumatech’s Intellisync synchronization engine into SSales.Oracle.com, an online application that delivers the core sales applications of the Oracle E-Business Suite as an online service.

New PhoneMate

MobiMate has announced the release of PhoneMate 2.0, a new version of its Address Book extension. With the new version you can send an SMS (text message) directly from your Palm handheld, if you have a compatible IR or Bluetooth-equipped cellular phone. This version also supports a lot of GSM phones not previously supported, and adds new features to the search mechanism. It’s also pretty slick-looking on a color display.

Weatherley report

Apparently, according to Silicon.com, Mike Weatherley, Palm’s Veep of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, did a little of his own carpet bombing on the Pocket PC. For some reason, Weatherley’s unimpressed by the Pocket PC.

Bachmann overdrive

Bachmann Software has renewed its license agreement with Palm, Inc. The license permits Palm to include Bachmann’s PrintBoy printing utility within Palm’s MultiMail Pro email software. The agreement, scheduled to extend through October 2003, recognizes the importance of printing among the core business functions supported by the Palm OS platform. PrintBoy software includes driver and formatting support, enabling users to wirelessly print email content by beaming it directly to an infrared-equipped printer.
