Handspring launched an online Wireless Application Development Center for developers interested in creating wireless applications for the Treo communicator products, VisorPhone, wireless Springboard modules, and the Blazer Web browser.

Multilingual dictionaries

Paragon Software has signed an agreement with ZAO MediaLingua a dictionaries development company. According to this agreement have released MultiLex dictionaries with new dictionary databases. Russian-German-Russian, Russian-French-Russian (with transcription), Russian-English-Russian (with transcription), Italian-Russian and Spanish-Russian dictionaries are available.

mFormation Technologies Inc. and GoAmerica Inc. announced they will team to offer secure, controlled, and fully managed wireless data solutions to corporate customers. As part of GoAmerica’s wireless offering, mFormation Enterprise Manager will provide customers with improved security and control over growing wireless deployments. In addition, mFormation will integrate GoAmerica’s infrastructure with its offering, benefiting from GoAmerica’s carrier connections and Network Operation Center technology. Baylor Health Care System is the first customer to adopt the combined solution.

Quickoffice awarded

Cutting Edge Software announced it received several awards at Handheld Computing Magazine’s Best Palm Powered Products Awards ceremony held at the PalmSource conference last week. Winning in more categories than any other company, Cutting Edge Software’s Quickoffice was honored as Best Office Suite and the company’s Quicksheet was named the industry’s best spreadsheet. In a new category, Cutting Edge Software’s new Quickoffice Conference Edition received a Special Award for Wireless Innovation. The company also was named a finalist in the category of Best Document Editor/Reader for its Quickword application.
