
Colligo Networks, Inc., a provider of collaboration software for mobile workers, announced that Palm, Inc. has licensed Colligo’s Portable Collaborative Networking (PCN) applications to bring a new type of Bluetooth short-range wireless solution to business professionals. The software applications enable fast and easy information exchange among Palm handhelds equipped with the Palm Bluetooth Card. BlueChat, a private messaging and chat application, and BlueBoard, a portable whiteboard that allows users to share images in real time, will ship with the Palm Bluetooth Card.

At the PalmSource Conference & Expo, Handheld Computing Magazine announced that iambic Mail had won the Best Email Client for Palm OS software 2001. iambic Mail, used in conjunction with your Palm OS handheld and a Palm Modem, or with a wireless/Internet-enabled Palm handheld, lets you download, read, and respond to emails directly to and from your handheld device.

PalmInfocenter has a review of Blazer 2.0, a Web browser for the Palm OS. It offers support for color graphics, personalization, bookmarks, and strong security. It supports all major existing standards, optimizing HTML, WAP, and cHTML content for viewing on a handheld display.

PalmInfocenter reports AvantGo will limit the number of subscribers to custom channels to just eight people for each channel. According to the article, regular channels won’t be affected.
