VITO SoundExplorer

VITO Technology announced a major update of VITO SoundExplorer, their MP3 player and recorder for Pocket PC. New version 4.0 looks exactly like the previous version, but stability has been enhanced, along with the addition of a multi-language interface, and skin support.

Nexus English Super Dictionary

PocketSensei announced the release of version 1.0 of the Nexus English Super Dictionary for Palm Powered handhelds and smartphones. Nexus comes standard with integrated thesaurus, rhyming dictionary, crossword search and custom study lists. Nexus also supports the ability to attach JPEG illustrations to word definitions.

A slice of BlackBerry

Nokia said that it plans to enhance its Series 80 line so that the mobile devices come preloaded with BlackBerry software from Research In Motion. The Series 80 family are designed for use by professionals and include devices like the Nokia 9500 Communicator, which combines PDA-like organizational features with phone capabilities.

Floppy disk extinct?

Long the most common way to store letters, homework and other computer files, the floppy is going the way of the horse upon the arrival of the car: it’ll hang around but never hold the same relevance in everyday life. Dell Computer stopped including a floppy drive in new computers in spring 2003, and Gateway has followed suit on some models.
