iPod External Battery Pack

Gadget Accessories has released an iPod External Battery Pack featuring a dock connection for 3rd generation iPods, On/Off switch, LED power indicator, and uses four AA batteries. It also charges the iPod’s internal battery while connected to the battery pack.

Site spreading IE malware shut down

An Internet scam that exploits Internet Explorer to steal personal data from users has been thwarted by shutting down a Russian Web site that is suspected of launching the malicious effort, Microsoft says. Download.Ject directed users to a site where their machines could then be infected with a trojan.

900,000 defective HP notebooks

Hewlett-Packard has discovered a memory flaw that could be in as many as 900,000 of its notebook computers and is offering customers free memory modules as a remedy. The computer giant said Friday that through tests, it discovered a circuit design flaw in some notebook memory modules that could cause Windows operating system “blue screens,” intermittent lockups or memory corruption.
