Garmin just announced their StreetPilot 2820 for cars and motorcycles. You get the usual 2D or 3D navigation features with WAAS-enabled 12 parallel channel GPS and FM TMC traffic info, but then Garmin goes deluxe by including a built-in MP3 and audio book player with remote control and Bluetooth wireless with mic and speaker for hands-free cellphone calling. With an additional XM smart antenna, the 2820 delivers XM Radio broadcasts or XM NavTraffic with weather information and enhanced routing around accidents and construction.

Until now SD Wi-Fi has come in the form of oversized cards too long to actually fit in your device. By building their wireless into the flash of an SD card, Eye-Fi has reduced the space requirement, and also included a GB of memory.

Palm announced that the Treo 650 smartphone is available on the Mobile-8 CDMA network in Indonesia. The Treo 650 combines a feature-rich dual-band mobile phone with a wide range of productivity applications, including email, organizer and Web access. Users also can view, edit and create Word and Excel compatible documents or access PowerPoint presentations on the go.

Samsung brought its Origami tablet to the United States on Monday, announcing that the device would go on sale at Best Buy’s online store next week and will show up in some of the retailer’s outlets this summer. The Q1 minitablet, with its 7-inch screen, built-in Bluetooth connectivity and Wi-Fi wireless capabilities, will sell for $1,099. Optional add-ons include an extended-life battery and a travel case with a built-in keyboard. Samsung’s Q1 device, which was first shown at the CeBit trade show in Germany in March, uses Intel’s ultralow-voltage Celeron, running at 900MHz, has 512MB of memory and runs a version of Windows XP Tablet PC edition that is customized to enable typing via an on-screen “dial” keyboard.

Stung by market share losses in the first quarter, Dell is cutting prices in an effort to woo customers. The PC maker is selling an Inspiron E1505 notebook with an Intel T2300 Core Duo processor, 1GB of memory, an 80GB drive, a 15.4-inch screen and a DVD burner for $699 on Monday, down from the usual price of $1,234. A similar notebook from Toshiba on CompUSA’s site sells for $1,249, while a similar Hewlett-Packard sells for $1,199. Gateway clocks in at $999. Dell is also selling a B110 Dimension desktop with a budget Intel Celeron chip, 256MB of memory and a 19-inch flat panel monitor for $349. With a 17-inch CRT monitor, the same computer costs $299. Shipping, usually $99 on budget PCs at Dell and often a wellspring of consumer complaints, is free for a limited time.
