
Israel’s Business Arena is reporting that Microsoft Israel plans to launch a Hebrew version of Windows CE in March.

News.com is reporting that approximately 1.6 million 3Com PalmPilot devices shipped in 1998, making it the top-selling handheld device.

GoAmerica Communications Corp. announced at CTIA Wireless ’99 its newest service feature that instantly brings Web information to mobile professionals through a single handheld device. Using the Inter@ctive Pager 950 from Research In Motion, GoAmerica subscribers can access personalized content, such as stock, news, travel, sports and weather updates, through the Go.Web service.

Power Media, Inc. is offering a new game for the Palm Computing device. Shanghai Tiles offers an attractive and elegant game board upon which to play the ancient game of matching mahjongg tiles. The game offers various tile/board layouts and a unique, dynamic tile resizing feature.

Here in central New Jersey, we had another winter snow. This one behaved as all snows should behave: it came during the night and by drive-time in the morning, the roads were clear and the scenery spectacular. The Detroit News reports that Lycos is introducing a free calendar service that lets people and groups post schedules on the World Wide Web. The service lets people choose whether they want private calendars, which are protected by passwords, or if they want to open the calendar to viewing by a limited group or the public. The calendar service will also soon let users synchronize data with a PalmPilot connected organizer.

Motorola Inc. and Starfish Software Inc. introduced the Motorola StarTAC Mobile Organizer, an accessory designed to clip onto the back of Motorola StarTAC cellular phones. Using patented TrueSync technology from Starfish, this clip-on device synchronizes with popular Web-Calendars, desktop organizers and PDAs including Yahoo! Calendar & Address Book, Lotus Organizer, Lotus Notes, ACT!, and Palm III.

Pdamart announced that they have lowered the prices on the Palm III and PalmPilot Professional connected organizer. At pdamart’s website visitors will be able to purchase the Palm III for $279 and the Palm Pilot Professional for $179.99. In addition, pdamart will be lowering the prices of several Windows CE devices including the Casio E-11 and LG Phenom Express.
