
PC Week reports that Symbian and Sun plan to work together to incorporate wireless Java technology in EPOC. The products are expected to ship by year’s end.

Here’s an article from Network Computing which explains how handheld devices are used on the ski slopes in Vail, Colorado. The devices allow Vail ski instructors to sign up students at the base of the mountain, while rental agents meet skiers outdoors and scan their returned boots, skis and poles.

OAG Worldwide announced at Corporate Travel World in New York City that users of the Palm computer can now access OAG’s travel information. Using the Palm device, travelers can now access OAG’s database of 600,000 worldwide flights.

Hrere’s an article from News.com about the latest Windows CE releases from Casio and Philips. The Cassiopeia from Casio supports full-motion video along with MP3 audio. Philips’ Nino 500 series has a 320-by-240 resolution backlit color screen and 16MB of memory.

A wireless travel reservation service is in development by IBM, Nokia and SABRE Group. A traveler using the wireless reservation system could make new travel arrangements as plans change. It is expected to be offered by SABRE as early as the end of 1999.

Hasbro has released Trivial Pursuit and Slingo for palm-size and handheld Windows CE-based platforms. GameSpot Magazine reports that Monopoly and Scrabble for Windows CE are slated for release at the end of March.
