My Docs Online announced the immediate availability of its free Web-based service for Windows CE users. With My Docs Online!, Windows CE users can upload and store their files on the Internet and then access them from anywhere. Using My Docs Online!, any type of file can be saved on the Web, moved from a desktop PC to a hand-held PC, downloaded to remote locations, or shared with co-workers or friends.

Terms of AT&T, MS deal

PC Week reports that under the terms of the agreement between Microsoft and AT&T, Microsoft will buy $5 billion worth of AT&T securities and warrants. The securities will be convertible into some 66.7 million shares of AT&T — around 3.7 percent of the company — at a price of $75 per share. Microsoft will also get warrants to purchase 40 million more shares of AT&T, which would bring its ownership up to around 5.9 percent of the company. In return, AT&T will agree to use Microsoft’s Windows CE operating system in its digital set-top boxes.

Microsoft, AT&T deal

News.com has this story on Microsoft’s $5 billion investment in AT&T and announced a series of agreements with the phone giant in a move to boost its position in Internet services. According to the article, AT&T said it will increase its use of Microsoft’s Windows CE operating system software in set-top devices from its current license of 5 million to cover an additional 2.5 million to 5 million set-top devices.

Loan Pro and Lease Pro allows users to calculate a variety of variables for a variety of loan or lease scenarios including auto, equipment and property.

HanDBase Desktop released

Semicolon Software announced the release of HanDBase Desktop for Macintosh version 1.1, a Macintosh application that can create databases for use with HanDBase on the Palm organizer. With HanDBase Desktop for Macintosh, users can transfer information from Mac databases, spreadsheets, and word processors onto their Palm organizers.

IntelliGolf 4.0 is here

Karrier Communications announced its new IntelliGolf version 4.0 scorecard software for use on 3Com’s Palm connected organizers. The new IntelliGolf software now calculates a golfer’s approximate Handicap; includes over 60 Performance Statistics to help golfers improve their game; adds a new Desktop Wizard that makes managing course information even easier, and improves support for multiple-season golf databases.

WorkPad z50

IBM is extending its WorkPad line of PC Companions with the new WorkPad z50, a mobile solution for providing corporate employees with access to e-mail, the Internet and other information while outside of the office. The WorkPad z50 is powered by Microsoft’s Windows CE Handheld PC Pro Edition operating system.
