CNET News.com reports Palm is offering steep discounts to developers. According to the article, Palm General Manager Alan Kessler sent out an email offering registered developers discounts of up to 40 percent on one to three handhelds.

Palm goes to Stanford

Palm, Inc. and West Group are working with Stanford University’s Law School on a six-month wireless handheld technology initiative that is allowing busy law school students to communicate, research, prepare for exams, and manage their studies remotely. West Group is providing wireless access to Westlaw, a legal research service, and six eBook titles that will give students remote access to frequently used legal information. The company also is providing training and additional funding for the program. West Group and other software companies are providing legal, Stanford-specific and time-and-billing software.

MercuryGuide has selected JungleSoft as the mobile application platform for MercuryGuide’s interactive event guides for handheld computers. JungleSoft will provide MercuryGuide with a viewing platform that enables them to publish specific corporate, event, and city information, as well as allow businesses to sponsor or advertise on the guides.

Does Voyager make it home? That’s what we’ll all find out on tonight’s series finale of Star Trek: Voyager. This note is a public service reminder for those of you who might have missed the two hour show, which begins at 8pm tonight in most markets. Yes, we’re fully aware that a television show is not really industry news. But with millions of Palm device users and Lotus Notes and Domino administrators as our readers, do you think there are many of you who aren’t at least somewhat curious if Voyager makes it home?
