Retailers cut prices

iambic previews its first game

iambic, Inc. has announced it will be creating its first game ever for Palm OS devices. The game will be specially designed for use on color-enabled Palm OS devices only. The release coincides with the development of a new division at iambic, iambic Entertainment. Details about the game will be made available on the official release date, June 5. In the meantime, there’s a special teaser presentation on the company’s Web site.

Orang-Otang granted patent

Online bank access wanted

AvantGo has issued a press release stating, a new survey shows almost two thirds of UK AvantGo PDA users would like mobile access to their online bank account. The survey asked UK subscribers of the AvantGo mobile Internet service about how they currently use their PDA and the capabilities they would like to see added in the future. Of the 5,000 respondents, 64% want to manage their online bank account using their PDA, and 48% would also like to access internal directories, customer details, positioning papers, and other data held on their company network.

MemorySafe Flash upgrade

Northstar Mobile announced MemorySafe Flash, a new software upgrade that enables users of several Palm handheld models to restore files from MemorySafe immediately without re-installing the MemorySafe software after the handheld experiences a hard reset or extended power outage. MemorySafe Flash can be stored directly in the Flash memory of Palm III, Palm IIIc, Palm IIIx, Palm V and Palm Vx handhelds, so users of these handhelds to take advantage of this free software upgrade.
