Kinectivity 1.1 launched

Pencel Corporation announced the launch of Kinectivity 1.1, a mobile extended database management system and rapid application tool. The new version of Kinectivity expands upon the original release with support for Symbol and Handspring barcode scanners and Handspring memory cards, password protection of data, and the ability to enter subscription parameters from the field. The Kinectivity platform consists of an integrated database and synchronization engine that connects mobile devices directly to back-end data sources. The configurable component approach of the application tool, Kinectivity Studio, allows application designers to achieve rapid mobility without writing code

InnoWave and RadWin

InnoWave ECI Wireless Systems Ltd. and RadWin Ltd. announced the signing of an OEM agreement in which InnoWave will market and sell the WinAir, RadWin’s Broadband Wireless Access solution.

Palm collaborates with Axis

Axis Communications announced a collaboration with Palm, Inc. The goal of this agreement is to enable Palm handheld users to wirelessly connect to a local Bluetooth network powered by the AXIS 9010 Bluetooth Access Point. This will create a new class of high-speed, short-range, wireless services. The companies also plan to engage in mutually beneficial business development efforts and marketing activities to evangelize network “hot spots,” wireless Local Area Network, in locations such as offices, airports, and retail stores. As part of this collaboration, Axis Communications has joined Palm’s PluggedIn Program, and Palm has joined the Axis Mobile Internet Partner Program. Axis is also extending an offer to all Palm OS Bluetooth developers to get an AXIS 9010 prototype and a Software Developer Kit for location based services.

PricewaterhouseCoopers alliance

PricewaterhouseCoopers and Palm, Inc. announced a global alliance agreement to provide mobile enterprise business solutions to clients. Under the terms of the agreement, Palm and PricewaterhouseCoopers plan to work together to help companies quickly integrate existing enterprise systems with mobile capabilities. The two organizations intend to develop and market mobile enterprise solutions based on Palm handheld computers. The solutions will enable clients to gain further benefits from critical enterprise applications deployed by businesses including CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and B2E (Business-to-Enterprise).

Palm to resell XTNDConnect

Palm, Inc. and Extended Systems Inc. announced that they have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent for Palm to resell Extended Systems’ XTNDConnect Server Software as a Palm branded product by the fourth quarter of this calendar year. This step reflects the strong relationship between the two companies despite their mutual agreement to end the acquisition of Extended Systems by Palm last month.

Yankowski keynote

Palm, Inc.’s chief executive officer, Carl Yankowski, is delivering the opening keynote address this morning at TechX NY. Directly following the keynote, Yankowski will hold a media Q&A session to answer questions related to the keynote. In addition, approximately 20 third-party Palm Economy partners are launching products at the show. In the keynote, titled “Handheld Computing: Grass Roots to Corporate Standard,” Yankowski will discuss how handheld computers, along with mobile phones and notebooks, broke the chains that tethered workers to their desks. PrintBoy goes to school

Bachmann Software will be exhibiting its PrintBoy application at the National Educational Computing Conference in Chicago at Palm, Inc.’s pavilion (booth #2020). PrintBoy enables students to wirelessly print the assignments that have been completed on their Palm OS devices by beaming the documents to any printer equipped with an infrared port.
