Free mobile app distribution

Pencel Corporation announced that companies are now able to freely distribute mobile applications created with Kinectivity Studio, a visual workshop for developing mobile applications, with no per-user license fees. Pencel is also providing the right for Kinectivity Studio customers to deploy Kinectivity Personal Server, a mobile data application platform providing direct integration with back-end data sources on a local computer, across the enterprise at no charge.

TealMover released

TealPoint Software announced the release of TealMover for Palm OS Organizers. TealMover is a file manager application which can beam, rename, delete, copy, move, and manage files in RAM and external expansion devices. It supports both SD and MMC cards and any Virtual File System compatible expansion device.

Ababall 1.01 released

iambic has released Ababall 1.01, the latest version of its full-color, arcade-style game for Palm OS devices. Ababall 1.01 adds a feature in the options menu that allows players to change the default button’s configuration for paddle movement and firing. It also addresses a graphics resource issue when using two-player mode, stops the up/down buttons on the GamePad from pausing the game, provides better demo instructions, and allows jog dial support to act as the up/down arrow and to fire or release the ball when pressed. Registered owners can upgrade for free to Ababall 1.01.

Two database applications

InformationWeek has an article on two enterprise database applications for Palm handhelds. According to the article, PocketDBA Systems and an alliance between ThinAirApps and AppForge are providing systems to create applications and manage systems from a handheld device to a company’s established database.

MatchBookDrive trade-in

MatchBookProducts introduced a trade-in program that allows current MatchBookDrive owners to order a FlashPlus adapter at a reduced price, by sending in their old adapter for a trade-in. A unique feature of MatchBook Product’s trade-in program is that customers can continue to use their current adapter until the FlashPlus Adapter arrives, then send the old adapter back. Customers must order by credit card. If they do not send the old adapter back within 30 days, the trade-in allowance is then charged to their credit card.
