SPAWAR Palm.Net agreement

Palm, Inc. announced that the Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center in Charleston, S.C., issued a Basic Agreement to Palm for Palm.Net wireless service, which powers the Palm VII series handheld computers. This is the first such purchasing agreement for Palm.Net wireless connectivity for government agency customers. The contract is available to federal government agencies.

In a move to make Palm.Net more compatible with large-scale government purchasing requirements, Palm and SPAWAR have arranged a government payment vehicle to facilitate acquisition of Palm.Net wireless service. To date, the purchase structure for the Palm.Net wireless service has been set up for monthly individual credit card payments.

Communiport MPCpro

Palm Boulevard has an article on Delphi Automotive Systems’ Communiport Mobile Productivity Center. According to the article, the first model of the MPC lineup, called Communiport MPCpro, synchronizes select Ericsson cellular telephone models with a Palm V or Palm Vx handheld computer.

Mughamrat has announced their latest product for the Palm OS, PAL: Palm Arabic Layer. PAL provides a customized font (Mughamrat Font) for specific small screen needs. It provides a support for chakl managing. It offers Arabic and Syllabic Graffiti. Mughamrat provides on top of PAL, ArabicSMS, an application for sending short messages in Arabic, in Latin characters, and even in mixed languages from your Palm handheld.
