Quickoffice v6.1 for Mac OS X

Mobility Electronics, Inc. announced that its Cutting Edge Software subsidiary has released Quickoffice v6.1 for Mac OS X, designed to enable Macintosh users to utilize Quickoffice for viewing and editing Microsoft Office v.X files on their Palm OS handhelds. Quickoffice for Mac features a suite of productivity applications, including the Quicksheet spreadsheet, Quickword word processor, and Quickchart graphing module.

Inbox To Go released

DataViz, Inc. announced Inbox To Go, a wireless email application for Palm OS handhelds. Inbox To Go is designed to allow Documents To Go customers to use wireless-enabled handhelds to get their email, complete with Microsoft Word and Excel attachments. Files can be edited in Documents To Go and sent as email attachments. Email attachments sent from the handheld arrive at their destination as real Word or Excel files.

IntelliGolf for Treo

Karrier Communications announced their IntelliGolf for the Treo software product. IntelliGolf for the Treo is optimized for Handspring Treo communicators and organizers allowing wireless access to the IntelliGolf scorecard database. At the golf course, Treo users can wirelessly download the course’s digital scorecard directly into their Treo. This eliminates the need to manually enter each hole’s yardage, par, handicap, slope, and course rating prior to scoring a round of golf.

Treo Mail 1.5 released

Handspring, Inc. released a new version of its Treo Mail software designed to deliver improved email performance to Treo customers. It also adds support for Lotus Notes. Treo Mail 1.5 automatically sends messages in the background. When used on high-speed 1xRTT and GPRS data networks, Treo Mail will synchronize faster and more frequently for an ideal mobile email experience. Other improvements include direct access to URLs, email addresses, and phone numbers within an email as well as several enhancements that take advantage of the bright color displays of the Treo 270 and 300 models.

New ePocrates versions

ePocrates has two new versions of their handheld reference guide available. ePocrates Rx 6.0 is the new version of their standard drug database and can be downloaded and used for free. The premium version of their software, ePocrates Rx Pro, includes ePocrates ID and additional content and features not included in their standard drug database. ePocrates Rx Pro is a drug reference guide designed to provide comprehensive information on over 400 alternative medicines such as dosing, common uses, drug interactions, and adverse reactions. This information is integrated into ePocrates’ gold standard drug database, which contains complete prescribing information for over 2,700 medications (including formularies).

Palm Canada rebate

Palm Canada a new rebate program targeted to the Enterprise Market. If you buy a minimum of 10 Palm m130 handhelds, you get a $100 mail-in rebate per unit, or if you buy a minimum of 10 Palm m515 handhelds, you get an $80 mail-in rebate per unit. The program runs from October 28, 2002 to February 3, 2003. It mus be redeemed by March 3, 2003.
