PlayStation Portable set to go

The PSP will go on sale in Japan on Dec. 12 for about $185 (19,800 yen), Sony Computer Entertainment said in a statement. The company has not yet set a U.S. date or price for the PSP, but has said the PSP will arrive in the United States at the end of March. U.S. pricing for game hardware is usually similar to or slightly below the cost in Japan.

Bejeweled 2

Bejeweled 2, the sequel to Bejeweled, the biggest selling PDA game of all time, will make its handheld debut less than a month after PopCap’s PC version and will retain all the features of its bigger brother, including four standard play modes, classic, action, endless and the all-new puzzle mode. Additionally, five special bonus modes are unlocked as players progress through the various standard modes.

Infuzer 2004 NBA Season

Infuzer has followed up its free schedule downloads for the 2004 NFL season with the release of the team schedules for the 2004 NBA Season. Each free schedule can be added to a user’s PC or PDA calendar. It’s fully compatible with the Outlook, Palm Desktop and Lotus Notes calendar platforms. Users can select any team schedule and it will be imported to their PC or PDA calendar in a single click. Additionally, users may opt-in to the premium NBA service which will update final scores, give previews and recaps of each individual regular season game right into the calendar entry.

Spammers go on trial

Three people who allegedly sent America Online customers millions of junk email messages touting penny stocks and other Internet gimmicks went on trial Tuesday in the nation’s first such felony case. The defendants are being tried under a 2003 Virginia anti-spam law that prosecutors say is the harshest of its kind in the nation. The three face up to 15 years in prison if convicted on all three counts.

Dell 17-inch notebook

Dell has launched the Inspiron 9200, the company’s first notebook with a 17-inch wide-aspect screen, providing customers a viewing area 26 percent larger than a 15.4-inch typical wide-aspect notebook display despite occupying a smaller footprint and weighing less than most 17-inch models.

Download Farenheit 9/11

Apparently, Micheal Moore is encouraging Internet users to download free copies of his highly controversial movie, Farenheit 9/11. If you haven’t yet seen the movie and want to do so before the election, one site has set up a free download location for copies of the movie. If you’re looking to spark some conversation with your seatmate while stuck in an airplane for six hours, this is the movie that’ll do it.

Pocket PC coming to Sprint

Sprint will soon begin offering a new high-end cellular-wireless Pocket PC. The Audiovox PPC-6601 will use a traditional tablet design, plus it will sport a small QWERTY keyboard that is exposed when the 3.5-inch, 240-by-320-pixel (QVGA) screen slides up.

SanDisk 256MB TransFlash card

SanDisk has introduced the highest capacity yet for its small TransFlash memory module, a 256 megabyte unit that will help meet the demands of new feature phones for greater storage of digital music, video, digital photos and GPS navigation software. The TransFlash module is about one-fourth the size of a standard SD card, but can be inserted into an adapter and used in SD-enabled devices.
