Proporta has launched a new Web site devoted to digital music. Proporta Music will focus entirely on accessories for all the latest MP3 and audio devices. Proporta offers particular support for the iPod as well as other devices like the Sony HD5, Creative Zen Micro, iRiver and other leading players.

SplashData announced that its SplashBlog photoblogging solution is now available for Windows Mobile and Symbian Series 60 and UIQ devices. Also, new features have been added to the existing Palm OS version and Web photo-hosting service.

DataViz announced its mobile ActiveSync client, RoadSync, and mobile Office suite, Documents To Go, will support the Nokia 9300 smartphone and Nokia 9500 Communicator running Symbian OS-based Series 80. Based on the Exchange ActiveSync protocol licensed from Microsoft, RoadSync provides direct synchronization with Exchange Server 2003.

Intellisync Corporation introduced Intellisync Unified Messaging for mobile devices. The company says you can access your email, IM on any network, text/SMS messages, Web access, voice communications, contacts and calendar information from a single mobile device screen.

Greenlight Wireless announced that its Skweezer service now provides an online translation service through its partner WorldLingo. The new component allows a user to translate any Web page into 13 possible languages including Japanese, Korean, and Russian.

Palm and Microsoft announced Palm has licensed the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system for an expanded line of Treo smartphones, the first of which will be available on Verizon Wireless’ national wireless broadband network. The new Treo smartphone takes uses the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform and offers Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile and Internet Explorer Mobile built into the smartphone, as well as direct access to Exchange Server 2003 for mobile access to information.

Belkin announced a variety of new cases for the iPod nano. Addressing the various needs of the iPod user, three form-fitting, leather-case designs are available. These cases will be available in North America in October.

Cingular Wireless, Billboard and MFORMA, announced Billboard Mobile, a mobile music application that gives Cingular customers access to music and entertainment news, Billboard charts and local concert information, as well as Billboard featured master tones, directly from their wireless phone.

Nokia debuted Nokia XpressMusic, a new brand for its music-enabled phones in an effort to make them more easily identifiable by consumers. Beta News says the phones will have features such as dedicated music keys and automatic pause and resume of incoming calls.
