Apple Computer introduced its much awaited iPod handheld device with video capabilities on Wednesday, ending months of speculation that the company was readying such a device. At an invite-only event held at the California Theater in San Jose, Calif., Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs showed off the new iPod, which will be offered as a 30GB model for $299 and a 60GB version for $399.

At the Mobile Imaging Summit, Imagenomic announced the release of several new Noiseware image enhancement products aimed at the exploding mobile imaging and camera phone markets. Addressing the ever-increasing megapixel capture capability with the bandwidth-constraints of over-the-air wireless transmission, Noiseware ME (Mobile Edition) is the initial implementation of Imagenomic’s popular noise removal engine for Symbian based camera phones, including the Nokia Series 60.

Intorine released a new version of Cowboy 2.1 for Palm OS, a game about the cowboy and lasso. The character now has a friend, a pretty blond in a stylish hat, who will accompany him in scouring the desert for prizes. To play the game, you have to catch different kinds of prizes with your lasso: cows, horses, cash bags, and bonuses. Once an item is captured, it is converted into money.
