Karrier Communications announced the shipment of its IntelliGolf software for Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PCs. IntelliGolf version 7.7 now supports Pocket PCs running Windows CE 2000, 2002, 2003, and Microsoft’s latest Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system. The IntelliGolf software replaces pencil and paper golf scoring, wagering, and statistics gathering on the golf course. Users enter their scores, wagers, and club selection on their Pocket PC. IntelliGolf totals all scores, tabulates all wagers, and synchronizes with the included Windows desktop software. From the IntelliGolf desktop software users can view performance graphs, approximating their handicap, and evaluate their Dream Round.

DataViz announced that its mobile office suite, Documents To Go, is now available for the Symbian OS based Series 80 platform. With the addition of this newly supported platform, DataViz’ Documents To Go product line now includes support for three of the most popular smartphone platforms: Symbian OS based UIQ, Series 80, and Palm OS. This Series 80 version has received Symbian-signed certification and provides owners of both the Nokia 9300 smartphone and Nokia 9500 Communicator with the ability to open, view, and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files. Tripod Data Systems announced that Claim Jumper Restaurants have chosen the TDS Recon rugged handheld computer for food safety inspections. Equipped with iQuality food inspection software that was developed by IQ Scientific Instruments, the Recons are helping the restaurants save time and eliminate paperwork while meeting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety standards. All Claim Jumper restaurants in the Western U.S. will be equipped with a Recon, iQuality software, a temperature probe that connects directly into the Recon and metal tags located next to each inspection point.
