
TealPhone, TealPoint Software’s contact manager, recently won the People’s Choice “Best PDA Software” award at the 2002 Shareware Industry Awards, in St. Louis, Missouri. TealPhone is a compatible, drop-in replacement for the standard Palm OS Address Book application. Enhancements include a one-screen integrated display, eye-saving large number view, quick seek index bar, recently-used city and country memory, search features, TealPrint summary, entry and label printing, and switchable sorting by first name, last name, and company. Also supported is phone number dialing through integrated phones, modems, phone add-on peripherals, and cabled and infrared GSM cell phones.

Metaworks Inc. has developed a solution designed to help conference planners distinguish themselves from their competition and attract new attendees and exhibitors to their events. The solution is MetaGuide, a Palm OS based mobile, wireless-enabled conference and event guide that provides event attendees with access to detailed, up-to-the minute information. MetaGuide can be customized to include information such as daily schedules, exhibitor profiles, registration details, logos, maps, and tourism information.

DDH Software, Inc.# announced the launch of HanDBase Sync Exchange for mobile database users of either Palm OS or Pocket PC platforms. With HanDBase Sync Exchange, companies and personal users should now have the ability to synchronize their HanDBase databases with most backend database programs.

Insights Learning & Development Ltd. announced Insights Impressions 1.0 for Palm OS, a free personality profiling application to help make good first impressions. Insights Impressions 1.0 was developed to help sales staff quickly assess the personality type of a potential customer and provide some tips on the best way to communicate with him or her, but the advice provided can be used in any situation.

Palm, Inc. announced the new, updated Palm Desktop software 4.1 for Windows (Japanese, international English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese versions will also be available for download in early fall). Palm’s Desktop software 4.1 offers an updated Windows XP look and feel with several new and enhanced features.

ETS Inc. announced a special promotion for da Vinci, a database code generation tool for Palm OS. The promotional pricing is $79 (US) for download license, including User’s Guide in PDF and $129 (US) for CD license with printed User’s Guide. During this special promotion, all de Vinci orders placed before August 30, 2002 will receive a free license for Pocket Palate 2.0 for Palm OS. Pocket Palate is ETS’s product for Wine lovers which provides a personal rating system for Wine Tastings.

Electric Pocket announced the release of Ringo 3.0, an enhanced version of the ringtone manager for Handspring
