SalesNexus, provider of Web-based contact management software and solutions, has added a powerful new mobile tool to compliment its core product line. The new mobile tool, available only to current SalesNexus Premium Edition subscribers, is a Web-based contact management software program that allows wireless synchronization of contacts and calendar to Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Palm PDAs and virtually any cell phone with an address book. Using the SalesNexus mobile contact management software program, sales representatives in the field can access and update basic calendar and contact information, such as phone numbers and addresses, as well as unique business-specific information that can be customized based on the needs of the sales team. Once the sales rep enters new or updated information, it immediately becomes available to the rest of the sales and support staff.

In a report released by The Entertainment Software Association, “Sixty-nine percent of American heads of households play computer and video games.” It seems as though the days of relaxing with good book and a cup of coffee are being replaced with a game console or computer. We have truly entered the “Age of the Video Game”. ESB estimates that U.S. computer and video game software sales grew four percent in 2005 to $7 billion–a more than doubling of industry software sales since 1996. The average age of the most frequent game buyer is 40 years old. In 2006, 93 percent of computer game buyers and 83 percent of console game buyers were over the age of 18.

Satellite and Internet radio services would be required to restrict listeners’ ability to record and play back individual songs, under new legislation introduced this week in the U.S. Senate. The rules are embedded in a copyright bill called the Platform Equality and Remedies for Rights Holders in Music Act, or Perform Act, which was reintroduced Thursday by Sens. Dianne Feinstein, Lindsey Graham, Joseph Biden, and Lamar Alexander. They have pitched the proposal, which first emerged in an earlier version last spring, as a means to level the playing field among “radio-like services” available via cable, satellite and the Internet.

AOL announced that it has struck a deal with music service Napster as the subscription provider for its AOL Music site. Napster will be fully integrated into AOL Music, and it will replace the existing AOL Music Now service. The 350,000 subscribers to AOL Music Now will be notified that their accounts will be migrating automatically to Napster unless they choose to opt out; according to a statement from AOL, the transition is expected to be seamless, with former Music Now customers able to keep their usernames and passwords.

Long-time Apple reseller Other World Computing and Axiotron, a manufacturing contractor, announced what it called the One and Only Mac Tablet computer at this year’s Macworld Conference and Expo. The Axiotron ModBook is not a Mac clone, but a stock Apple MacBook modified into tablet form. More specifically designed in a slate form–the ModBook does not include a keyboard or trackpad, though an Axiotron representative said that the ModBook will work with any USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Instead, all input on the MacBook is made with a stylus. Axiotron replaced the standard MacBook screen with a high contrast ratio Toshiba screen, under a Wacom digitizer. When in contact with the screen, the stylus draws on it; when hovering, the stylus acts like a mouse, manipulating the cursor.

If you wanted to be one of the first to try out Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC, you might have to wait a little longer. The Raleigh, N.C., PC maker disclosed on its official company blog that due to shortages of the panels used in the X60’s display, the new tablet will not start to ship in bulk until later in January. Lenovo announced the tablet PC on Nov. 1 and started taking orders immediately. The first shipments of the X60 had been scheduled to roll out of the factory by December. Later, one of the company’s manufacturers told Lenovo officials that there would be a delay due to a shortage in the panel used for the display.
