It seems that 90-95% of the country does NOT have 3G coverage and is therefore NOT going to get the full iPhone 3G experience (i.e. network speeds). Before you sign that contract, you may want to check if your area is covered.

Nuance Communications, Inc. has announced that their T9 Nav(tm) software will allow advertisers to target consumers more easily via mobile. Its innovative search and discovery solution isvnow available as part of a Beta trial in the UK. By sponsoring appropriate keywords within T9 Nav, companies will be able to influence content choices, drive traffic to specified Web sites and ultimately increase brand affinity. Tiger Beer and Times Mobile, the mobile site of The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers in the UK, have joined the trial as keyword advertising sponsors.

NEC Europe Ltd., a European subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has announced the acquisition of Linecom Kft., a leading Hungarian engineering company. Linecom Kft. has assisted NEC for more than 15 years in reinforcing PASOLINK services and wireless business in Eastern Europe.
NEC’s Eastern European PASOLINK business now constitutes approximately 50% of PASOLINK’s total European sales.
