PocketView for CE

Remote Engineering announced that it has released its PocketVIEW product for palm-sized PCs running Windows CE. PocketVIEW Version 1.2 now includes support for color along with all the features of the original version. Those features include Redline tools, a Layer Manager, Pan and Zoom. For AutoCAD users, an ARX application is provided for exporting and importing drawings.

Ilium released Recordian 1.0

Ilium Software announced the release of Recordian 1.0 for palm-sized PCs running Windows CE. This release completes the Recordian software suite, adding support for palm-sized PCs to the already released Handheld PC and Windows desktop and notebook PC versions. Recordian allows users to record date-based information, such as project records, client and meeting histories, car and home maintenance information, health histories, frequent flier miles and more.

Flextronics International announced that Palm Computing and Flextronics are expanding their business relationship in which Flextronics will serve as one of the primary sources for manufacturing services and production of the Palm line of connected organizers. Flextronics will be providing support for Palm Computing’s North American product requirements from its Industrial Park located in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Bluestone ships XML-Contact

Bluestone Software began to ship Bluestone XML-Contact for the Palm Computing platform, an XML (Extensible Markup Language) application for 3Com Corporation’s Palm Computing devices. Bluestone XML-Contact lets Palm Computing device users exchange contact information with any corporate database, turning personal productivity tools into corporate information resources.

Palm for Japanese

Bowne Global Solutions announced completion of a collaborative project that adapted the Palm Computing platform for the Japanese market. Bowne Global Solutions and 3Com worked jointly throughout the three-step process of consulting, internationalization and localization. The re-engineered product presents a completely Japanese interface to the user, and introduces a newly developed Japanese input system. Other unique features include an expense tracking application, as well as English-to-Japanese and Japanese-to-English dictionaries.

GoPDA unveiled a new design and expanded user features for its PalmCentral.com Web site. The new PalmCentral.com features include an enhanced user interface, new content and an e-commerce engine that will allow users of Palm software to purchase and download applications.
