
Vadem, Odyssey Software, Sierra Wireless and GoAmerica Communications announced a co-marketing agreement to provide a single-solution, developer’s toolkit for enterprise customers seeking wide-area wireless access to network applications and information. The developer’s kit for Clio, WAN Edition, provides developers with the tools to gain mobile access to Microsoft BackOffice-based applications and enterprise data using a Microsoft Windows CE operating system-based Handheld PC (H/PC).

Hitachi Semiconductor (America) Inc. introduced the SuperH CardEngine. As a ready-to-use, network-ready, modular computer card, this SuperH RISC microprocessor-powered solution is aimed at speeding design times for network access devices, terminals, control panels, factory automation, instrumentation and other embedded systems.

Inso Corporation announced Quick View Plus (QVP) for the Windows CE operating system, at the 1999 Microsoft Windows CE Developers Conference. Conference attendees can see a demonstration of the product by visiting the Inso booth at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, June 6 — 9.

M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd’s DiskOnChip is designed for a growing number of applications based on Windows CE operating system including set-top boxes (STB), Windows-based terminals (WBTs), handheld PCs, WebPhones, elevators, auto PCs, industrial control panels and medical terminals. DiskOnChip serves as the local storage device of the system, storing the Windows CE operating system, the application and data files needed to run the system.

MasterCard International has developed a customized version of its existing ATM (automatic teller machine) locator Web site-based database for Palm computer users. According to Computer Currents Magazine, the software allows users to find the location of their nearest MasterCard or Cirrus ATM in the US, Canada and in selected countries.

News.com report that the Bluetooth consortium is a few weeks away from publication of the first specification. Bluetooth was created to bring wireless technology that would enable almost any device to communicate and transfer data.
