
Diversinet Corp. announced it has enhanced the company’s Passport Certificate Server 3.0 to include digital certificates for Palm Computing’s wireless Palm operating system. The Passport Certificate Server 3.0, combined with the Diversinet’s new Passport Permit Server 2.0, provide a security solution for wireless and wireline devices.

NEC Computers Inc. announced the MobilePro 780 as the newest addition to the NEC line of MobilePro handheld PCs. The system will feature NEC Electronics’ VR4121 MIPS microprocessor, and will support the Microsoft Windows CE Handheld PC Professional Edition operating system. The MobilePro 780 H/PC is available for approximately $799.

CompanionLink Software announced that Matsucom has licensed CompanionLink as the PIM synchronization system for their new Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), the onHand PC – the computer you wear on your wrist. CompanionLink for onHand will be included with each unit enabling onHand users to synchronize data between the onHand and Personal Information Managers (PIMs) such as Microsoft Outlook, ACT!, GoldMine, Lotus Organizer, Schedule+, and Palm Desktop.

Ericsson Mobile Communications and Extended Systems announced that the two companies have entered into an agreement. Extended Systems will provide its XTNDConnect PC mobile data synchronization and management software to bundle with select Ericsson phones. XTNDConnect PC provides the ability to synchronize and manage information such as contacts and schedule between personal computers and Ericsson mobile devices. XTNDConnect PC supports synchronization of applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Goldmine with Palm Computing, Windows CE and Ericsson mobile devices.
