Claudia Schiffer Edition

Palm, Inc., Claudia Schiffer, and PTN Media announced a collaboration to design and market the Palm Vx Claudia Schiffer Edition handheld computer. The device has a brushed metallic-aqua case, and Schiffer is personally selecting her favorite add-on software applications to include on a CD that customers can use to install the programs on their Palm Vx Claudia Schiffer Edition handheld. It will be available exclusively online in the Fall of 2000 at Claudia Schiffer’s Web site.

NS Basic/CE Desktop 1.0

NS Basic announced NS Basic/CE Desktop 1.0 is now shipping. The software should allow developers to create Windows CE applications on the desktop and then download them to Pocket PC and Windows CE devices. According to the press release, it’s a complete BASIC development environment for Pocket PC and Windows CE devices.

The Piloteer Magazine contacted the two US Presidential Campaigns and talked to them about their use of Palm handhelds. The current issue covers the Bush Campaign, to be followed by a report on the Gore Campaign in the next issue.

Chess Genius review

Chessopolis has a review of Chess Genius for the Palm computing platform. The article notes that people have been waiting a long time for a decent chess program for their Palm handheld and points out that Chess Genius was one of the few programs to beat Garry Kasparov. The reviewer says the program is easy to use and exceedingly stable and the board design is very pleasing to look at.

Stabo Stylus review

The Gadgeteer has a review of the Stabo Stylus, from Simple Com Inc. The reviewer calls the aluminum stylus visually appealing. It’s designed to fit the Palm III series, but a Palm V model is available.
