MovilGo Systems announced the release of a new version of its Gateway for the Palm OS platform. The MovilGo Gateway is an end-to-end solution that renders content and applications from the Internet or an intranet to mobile devices based on the Palm OS platform. The release includes a number of new features designed to enhance performance, usability, and enterprise scalability.

ONEWORLD Software Solutions announced that it successfully developed a remote-access synchronization tool with Salesnet, an application service provider of Web-enabled sales force automation software. It’s designed to allow mobile sales professionals to bi-directionally synchronize information between Salesnet accounts and contact managers, such as Palm devices and Microsoft Outlook.

ibrite, Inc. announced the availability of powerViewer, which is designed to convert Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 presentations into a format that can be easily viewed on a Palm OS handheld computer.

The New York Times has an article on wearable computers suggesting the real market for this new wave of technology may actually be blue-collar workers, as they tend to be more mobile than cubical-bound white-collar workers.

ZDNet reports on a keynote address made at PalmSource by Alan Kessler, Palm’s chief operating officer, in which he talked about Palm’s inroads into the corporate marketplace, with more initiatives on the way. He also introduced Jerry Jalaba, Palm’s new vice president of enterprise.
