The Columbus Dispatch has a piece about Amy Reiley’s Pocket Gourmet Dining Companion, pointing out that those suffering from food allergies can get a better handle on whether something they’re ordering will trigger an allergic reaction. Says David Horwich of neohand, inc. in a note sent to PalmPower, “I must admit this was not one of the intended uses of Pocket Gourmet, but it’s an interesting angle.”

Electric Pocket and IDEO announced they have teamed to offer wireless photo messaging to Handspring Visor users. People can capture digital photographs directly on a Handspring Visor with an IDEO eyemodule-series camera module that snaps into the Visor’s Springboard expansion slot. Then, with Electric Pocket’s BugMe! Messenger application, people can write captions directly on their digital photographs and email them wirelessly to their friends, family, or co-workers using any Springboard module modem.

Fictionwise.com announced the ebook release of the story, “Ninety Percent of Everything,” by Jonathan Lethem, James Patrick Kelly, and John Kessel. The story is available for free in ebook formats for handheld devices and personal computers.
