CNET News.com reports a new program called AirSnort, released on the Internet this week, lets hackers grab sensitive data as it is transmitted wirelessly through the air–unless certain precautions are taken. According to the article, the program exploits “flaws in a commonly used encryption scheme for securing traffic on a certain kind of wireless network–the one based on a popular standard known as Wi-Fi, or 802.11b.”

Wired.com has an interesting article on the debate over the use of Palm handhelds in schools. While some schools are making the use of handhelds mandatory, others are outright banning the devices, grouping them in with cell phones, beepers, etc.

ZATZ has achieved another milestone. We are now being tracked by a clipping service. Clipping services are companies hired, usually, by PR firms to scan publications for certain keywords and clip out any coverage about those keywords. For example, if we did a press release, we might want to subscribe to a clipping service to tell us if “ZATZ” appeared in any publications after we did the release. Well, our magazines are now being tracked by WebClipping.com, which is just such a clipping service. PAWGO introduced and put on sale its Null Modem Adapter for Palm III series products. It will allow users to attach a 9 pin (DB-9) cell phone data cable to a Palm III for easy access to the Web, email, SMS , fax, etc.
