Pricing and availability news

Gary W. Ankney of at edupalm.org reports to us with some handheld pricing and availability news. Handspring is no longer selling the Treo 90 through its Web site, rather it refers potential buyers to resellers.

Sony has dropped the price on the T655C from $349.99 USD to $299.99 USD; rumors are that it will be replaced along with the SJ20 and SJ30 next month. The first of new models has already been posted at Sony’s Web site, the NZ90, a bit larger and heavier than the NX series with Palm OS 5.0 and a 2 Megapixel camera. The NZ90 is scheduled to ship in mid February at $799.99 USD. Sony is also offering free ground shipping and special financing deals on CLIE handhelds for a limited time.

Palm is selling the m500 for $179 USD, $30 higher than it suggests on its handhelds comparison table. The m125 is also selling $24 higher than the table, but that higher price includes a 16MB SD card. Palm’s holiday rebates on the m515 and m215 run out next week, on February 3, 2003.
