Planetwide Media announced the launch of Windows Vista-compatible Comic Book Creator 2.0, extending the capabilities of the original Comic Book Creator. Comic Book Creator 2.0 is a personal media creation tool that allows you to easily create and share your own story utilizing digital photos, music, sound effects, videos and animation. Comic Book Creator 2.0 users can also take full advantage of the superior features and functionality of Windows Vista in terms of visual experience, as well as graphic processing quality.

Keyspan announced TuneView, a wireless remote control that manages iTunes on a PC or Apple Macintosh in an entirely new way. TuneView features a color LCD screen and familiar iPod-like menus that help users easily browse and control iTunes music, videos, radio and podcasts from up to 150 ft. away.

TuneView works with Apple’s AirPort Express, Xitel’s Hi-Fi Link and other products that connect audio output from a PC-based music server to the audio inputs on an AV receiver or multi-room audio system.

Iambic has released two updates to a couple of snappy tools, for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone powered phones and handhelds. Tipper 1.12 now allows to increment/decrement tip percentage by 1%, and to perform 0% calculations as well. GoogHelper 1.12 is now Treo WM friendly.

A Japanese study has found that people are now becoming dependent on computers and mobile phones, resulting in our brains being understimulated, which can cause severe memory problems. The study, carried out by a team of researchers at a Japanese university, says that in today’s world, people’s reliance on electronic devices for even the simplest tasks is dulling our minds. A recently released report says that in the United Kingdom, one fourth of the population doesn’t know their phone numbers at home and about one third only knows and memorizes important anniversaries and birthdates. According to the study, thanks to the increasing use of computers to store information, adults in their 50s and 60s have better memory capacity rather than people in their 30s and below, who have grown up with computers and other devices.

After announcing plans to release the Windows Mobile 6 ROM Upgrade for the Xda trion (aka HTC Hermes) and releasing the first Windows Mobile 6 ROM upgrade for the Xda orbit, O2 Germany has released the long awaited ROM upgrade for the Xda trion. Also interesting that it seems that O2 Germany has teamed with HTC to provide the download since the download is available from the HTC domain, not from the O2 domain anymore. And, unlike with previous ROM updates and ROM upgrades, you have to enter the device’s serial number to get your hands on the bits.

KeyLight 2 is a new application that gives you full control over the keyboard lights on your Treo. The program allows you to customize the keyboard backlight behavior for different applications, activities and times. You can set which apps will use the keylights, switch them off during calls and even have them flash when you receive a new email or sms message.
