wmRingToneMaker is a desktop application that lets you create your own ringtones from the .MP3 music files in your music library. It then automatically transfers them to your Windows Mobile SmartPhone such that you hear these fantastic ringtones when your acquaintances call you.

Fujitsu has unveiled the Lifebook U810, an ultramobile PC that had previously only been available in Japan. Now, Fujitsu will begin selling the PC in the North American market for the first time in September.

The Lifebook U810 weighs a little more than 1.5 pounds and offers a 5.6-inch LCD with touch screen capabilities. The PC also offers a keyboard, which allows it to function as both a convertible tablet as well as a notebook, said Paul Moore, the senior direct for Mobile Product Marketing for Fujitsu.

Nokia is offering to replace 46 million batteries manufactured by another company for use in its mobile phones because of a risk of overheating, Nokia said on Tuesday.

The faulty batteries were manufactured by Japan’s Matsushita Battery Industrial and sold in a wide range of Nokia phones, from its low-end 1100 family of products up to its pricier N91 and E60 devices.

Palm Europe and Turkcell Communication Services PLC, a Turkey-based, leading cellular communications provider, announced the availability of the Treo 750 smartphone for Turkcell’s network. The Palm Treo 750 smartphone is available now at Turkcell stores and authorized dealers.

Toshiba has recalled more defective laptop batteries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said last week, the latest move in a long-running problem with lithium-ion batteries made by Sony.

According to a warning from the CPSC, batteries in some of Toshiba’s Satellite A100, Satellite A105 and Tecra A7 notebooks built between January and April 2006 pose a fire hazard from overheating. Approximately 1,400 portable computers are affected by the recall, said the CPSC.
