Resco announced the availability of a brand new version of its Resco Pocket Radio application for the Pocket PC platform. Version 1.90 now fully supports Bluetooth stereo headsets and thus allows users to listen and tune into thousands of internet radio stations cable free.

Moreover, with the new version it is possible to install a touch-optimized player to the Today Plugin and operate the radio directly from there. T-Mobile and Google launched the G1 smartphone Sept. 23. The G1, loaded with a slideout keyboard, trackball and touchscreen wowed some members and disappointed others who looked at the device as a newer version of the Sidekick. The Sony Video Store on the PlayStation Network is filled with a good selection of movies, and you can’t beat the convenience of renting or even buying movies from your couch and watching them on your big screen with your PlayStation 3. Renting movies is a joy on the system, although it would be nice to have longer than 24 hours to watch the content, but what happens when you buy a movie? As one Ars reader found out, and Sony confirmed, you have to be careful about what happens to your system once it’s filled with video content: you have one download, one redownload, and that’s it.

Electric Pocket’s txtForward now enables BlackBerry users to automatically send outbound SMS messages to an email address. This new feature enables users to archive outgoing SMS messages as well as their incoming messages as previously available.

txtForward was announced in July to give BlackBerry users the ability to automatically forward their text messages to any email address they specify. The software is useful when changing to a new phone, enabling the user to avoid missing messages during the transition. It is also beneficial for those who prefer to focus on email as a messaging channel, or those who simply want the security of having text messages backed up with email–either on their computer or an online email account such as Gmail.
