SalesLogix Corp. announced the capability to integrate its SalesLogix Sales Information System to the 3Com PalmPilot connected organizer through Puma Technology’s new Intellisync for PalmPilot v3.1 synchronization software. Using Intellisync, SalesLogix v3.0 users can now synchronize and update their contacts, schedules and to do lists from their desktop or notebook computers to the popular 3Com PalmPilot connected organizer.

PC America has recently developed portable invoicing and inventory tracking using the Palm Pilot. Pocket Register is a Palm Pilot program that scans your barcodes (with a Symbol SPT-1500 Palm Unit), adds the items onto an invoice, calculates tax and grand total, then prints a receipt to an infrared printer. Used to count physical inventory, it is designed to take the place of a clipboard and lengthy lists of inventory. Simply point your Symbol SPT-1500 Palm Unit to a barcode and scan. It will count all your inventory.

Visto Corp. said it will provide a service enabling users of the Palm VII connected organizer who have one or more email accounts at work or home to access e-mails using wireless Internet connectivity. With the service, users of Palm VII connected organizer can filter and forward corporate e-mail from Lotus Notes, CC Mail, Microsoft Exchange, or POP 3 servers behind a corporate firewall.

Knowledge TV is airing The Year in Review, a special night of programming, on December 28th from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (ET and PT) and again on January 11th during the same time slot. New Media News, Knowledge TV’s computer and technology news show, will kick off the evening at 8 p.m. This special edition will offer predictions on the direction of technology in the coming year. Viewers will also take a look back on the major stories of 1998, including Microsoft, AOL and Netscape. Some of the products that excited consumers the past year, including iMac, digital cameras, and the Palm Pilot, will be featured.

Yahoo will introduce a test version of a product that will enable users to transfer information from Yahoo online calendars or address books into 3Com Palm Pilot devices or other computer devices running Microsoft Outlook software.
