A new release of Planetarium for the Palm OS has been announced. Version 2.0 has been completely redesigned and enhanced. It now uses both color or grey scale, has more stars, and can calculate data such as: rise and set times for any object, moon phases, solstices, twilight times, sidereal time, Julian date, and magnitude and angular size of the planets.

Garmin Corporation and Palm, Inc. have entered into a licensing agreement to incorporate Palm OS software in a new line of handheld products with Garmin’s GPS hardware and software. Under the terms of the agreement, Garmin Corporation will develop, manufacture, and market location-enabled handhelds that will be able to run the thousands of applications available for the Palm OS platform.
