Socket’s RFID Reader Card allows users to add RFID capabilities for Pocket PC applications. Socket’s RFID Reader Card product reads and writes to all ISO 15693 and many proprietary 13.56Mhz RFID tags being used or deployed for asset tracking, access control, process control, healthcare, medical, pharmaceutical and other applications.

BlackBerry in Russia

Mobile TeleSystems, the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Research In Motion (RIM) announced plans to offer the BlackBerry to mobile customers in Russia. BlackBerry will enable MTS subscribers to easily access email, phone, text messaging, Internet, organizer and corporate data applications from a single, integrated device. By using BlackBerry to access corporate applications, MTS customers will be able to increase productivity and efficiency for individuals and workgroups.

Treo 650 serial cable

PN Technologies announced serial Hotsync support for the Treo 650 with the PDCT5-H9 serial cable. This is significant news for anyone purchasing a Treo 650 and Citrix users wishing to Hotsync with PalmOS devices, since this enables a Hotsync with a Citrix machine. Previously, PalmOS users with the new multi-connector handhelds were not able to Hotsync with a Citrix machine owing to incompatibility with the USB drivers. PN Technologies is the first company to launch a serial cable solution for this issue, which will also allow Treo 650 users to serial Hotsync with Windows and with Windows NT.
