SanDisk has responded to the growing demand from power users of the popular Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable) by introducing a 4GB SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo Game card that can store up to 64 hours of MP3 music tracks, 20 or more hours of movies/videos/film trailers, 12 hours of game saves, or 4,000 digital still images. The 4GB card, which is expected to ship this month, carries a suggested retail price of $219.99. Other capacities in the Memory Stick PRO Duo Gaming Card line include 256 megabytes, 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB.

A growing number of handheld devices are capable of recording video. The new service will likely produce greater numbers of spontaneous and candid clips.

Two new cordless home phones from major electronics makers that went on sale May 8 are helping Microsoft’s MSN Messenger leap from the PC and into more office cubicles and living rooms. Each phone comes preloaded with the latest test version of the instant messenger, MSN Messenger, Microsoft said. As a result, the Win 1200 home phone from manufacturer Uniden and the VOIP433 phone from Royal Philips Electronics are both capable of making Internet phone calls via MSN Messenger.

Samsung unveiled the first in the upcoming series of Samsung’s ultra slim line-ups. The Samsung X820, which will be displayed for the first time at the Sviaz ExpoComm 2006, boasts the world’s thinnest profile of only 6.9 mm. Also on display will be Samsung’s D900, the world’s slimmest slider with the depth of only 13mm.

About a year ago a company named Pure Digital Technologies started selling a one-time use camcorder for $29.99.
