Handmark’s Zagat To Go for Palm OS has been updated to version 6.0. The software is a comprehensive restaurant and entertainment guide featuring the Zagat Survey ratings and rankings for more than 30,000 restaurants, nightspots, hotels and golf courses in hundreds of cities worldwide. The all new version features an improved interface, a recently viewed list and an easier setup process. It also retains the ability to search and browse listings by cuisine/category, neighborhood, ratings, cost, feature and Zagat’s well-known top lists. v6.0 also adds PIM and smartphone integration so you can call add listings to your address book and add reservations to your calendar.

PhatWare announced the release of a Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) for its PhatUpdate application. PhatUpdate, which is built into the most recent versions of PhatWare’s PhatPad, PhatNotes, and CalliGrapher applications for Windows Mobile devices, allows users to check for and download latest software updates. The SDK enables developers of mobile software applications to add this feature to their own software products and includes a royalty-free license to redistribute PhatUpdate application with developer’s products. Beyond offering product updates, the application can also be configured to offer trial versions of other 1st and 3rd party software and provides links to download and purchase the software directly from the device.

Apple introduced models of its popular iPod touch handheld computer and iPhone with double the memory available in previous versions.
Apple, which said in January it had sold more than 4 million iPhones since sales began last June, says the iPhone will now also sell with 16 gigabytes of memory.
The iPod touch, a wireless touch-screen device that plays music and videos, adds a 32 gigabyte model. Both devices will sell for $499, Apple said.

Blogging software provider WordPress has shipped an urgent security update to fix an XML-RPC implementation flaw that allows unauthorized third-party editing of blog posts.
With WordPress 2.3.3, the open-source company patches a bug that could let attackers use specially crafted requests to edit posts of any other user on that blog. An attacker would need valid user credentials to edit posts by another user on the blog, WordPress said in an advisory.
